McDonalds Girl (Harvard Din & Tonics Version)
For AwfullyChocolateGirl who liked its complete silliness and for all who miss the Dins (06 blog, pix and...err..that thing about the ginger ale):
Audio:
Harvard Din & Tonics mp3 here. The original by Dean Friedman and other cover versions are here.
Lyrics (Harvard Din & Tonics version):
I leave from softball practice every night
It's getting dark, but the "Golden Arches" light up the way
I turn the corner at the traffic light
I count my money and then I rehearse what I'm going to say
"I'd like an order of fries, a quarter-pounder with cheese,
I love the light in your eyes, will you go out with me please?"
I am in love with a McDonalds girl
She has a smile of innocence so soft tender and warm
I am in love with a McDonalds girl
She is an angel in a polyester uniform
She doesn't try to impress anyone
She doesn't act all tough like all the other girls that I know
She don't treat me like a simpleton
She's not afraid to be the only other virgin I know
When my hamburger's cold, I get up ready to go,
She's only sixteen years old, and I'm in love with her so
I am in love with a McDonalds girl
She has a smile of innocence so soft tender and warm
I am in love with a McDonalds girl
She is an angel in a polyester uniform
O my angel, you add that special sauce to my life
Whenever I think of being without you, I grimace
I'm so in love with you...Patty...
Together, you and I can make every meal a Happy Meal
Give me a sign: am I for here, or to go?!
As I head through the door, the movement catches her eye,
My heart begins to soar, she smiles and waves good-bye, good-bye
Good-bye, good byeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I am in love with a McDonalds girl
She has a smile of innocence so soft tender and warm
I am in love with a McDonalds girl
She is an angel in a polyester uniform
She is an angel in a polyester uniform
She is an angel in a polyester uniform

Greetings to fans of the Dins from Shanghai, the 12th stop of our World Tour 2006!!
For those interested, the Harvard Din & Tonics will be performing two shows in Singapore at the Esplanade Recital Studio on 8 Aug at 7pm and 9pm. Tickets will go on sale via Sistic in about a week, check back on Aug 26th or 27th. You should also see a listing for this event on the Esplanade website in a couple of days. I'm currently working hard on confirming all the logistical details, and the whole group is very excited to be in Singapore. Hope to see you all there!
